For a golf community steeped in fine tradition, seriously consider The Oaks Club in Osprey, Sarasota County. This private membership club traces its history to nearly a century ago. Residences in The Oaks are divided into three neighborhoods: Oaks Bayside which borders Little Sarasota Bay; Oaks Clubside at the boundaries of the two golf courses; and the Oaks Preserve tucked in a natural estuary.

Anyone interested in living in a community surrounded by lush greeneries and abundant residential conveniences would be well-advised to explore possibilities at Tara Golf & Country Club. Tara’s homes are located in Bradenton, Florida, and likewise have the advantage of being near other major development hubs in the state, like those in Sarasota, St. Petersburg, and Tampa.

Other member benefits can be enjoyed at the clubhouse patio and multi-purpose rooms for meetings, socials, and card games. Additionally, the members have access to a swimming pool with geothermal heating, a spa, a fully-equipped fitness center, a sauna, and two lighted tennis courts.

Tara Golf Course

Tara’s 18-hole, par 72 golf course has also been renovated. The links were originally designed by the famous golf course architect Ted McAnlis and are located in the Drewrys Bluff area in the Tara property. The course features 6,845 yards of play from its longest tees, and has a course rating of 72.8 and a slope rating of 136 on Bermuda grass.

Another well-known course designer, Ron Garl, handled the Tara golf layout’s renovation. The redevelopment work has fortified the links’ standing as among the best in Florida. The renovation included a complete resurfacing of the greens following USGA benchmarks and guidelines. Strict water conservation was introduced through an irrigation system with state-of-the-art mechanisms. A pro shop, a driving range, and putting greens are the other complementary golf facilities that Tara maintains efficiently.

Membership in the country club falls either in Class A or B, with the category based on the Tara property an individual owns. The Class A members enjoy full privileges including use of the golf course and all other club facilities. The Class B members are granted access to the clubhouse, tennis courts, swimming pool and fitness facilities; guest rates are charged for limited golfing privileges.

Tara Golf and Country Club Real Estate

The Tara community has several neighborhoods composed of single-family homes and condominiums, each of which has its own association of homeowners. From the low price end, a condominium complex can have an available unit with a floor plan of 1,097 square feet for sale at the $75,000 range. One on the top of a sales listing can be a single- family residence in Tuscany style in the $450,000 price level for its 1,100 square feet of living space.

These properties either have or are eligible for Class A or B club memberships. One thing that is most certain though is that they have the advantage of being in a well-managed community close to myriads of suburban attractions and conveniences. Many of these are as near as just five miles from the residences, hence making a Tara property deal truly worth a handshake.
