Central Park

Lakewood ranch Real Estate

A brand new community with very affordable green homes—this is Central Park in the heart of Southwest Florida. It is the latest addition to the pride of Lakewood Ranch Real Estate developments which has regaled home buyers since the mid-1990s with environment-friendly homes and communities. This new residential enclave is set amid lush nature parks painstakingly preserved at a former pasture and timber land in Manatee County, Florida.

Central Park was inaugurated just last July 2010 and home buyer response was more than encouraging. Within the first three days of its launching, the two builders of residences in the community —Neal Communities and Bruce Williams Homes—already landed 15 contracts. Such is an amazing feat, registered at a time when the real estate market is barely recovering from a tailspin that was part of the economic debacle of recent years.

Affordability is certainly what made this new community draw immediate notice from home buyers. Neal Communities quotes a starting price in the mid-$120s, the only price range that could be had for single-family homes within Lakewood Ranch.

The community’s encouraging inaugural is reminiscent of the equally significant milestones that Lakewood Ranch has set. It sold 200 homes in its first sales year, doubling the record in the next year, and driving it to a peak of 2,000 units in the year 2000. Central Park today stands as the eighth in the gated communities within the 8,500-acre Lakewood Ranch.

Much of the real estate development’s success lies in a partnership with some of the top US home builders in the mold of Neal Communities and Bruce William Homes. They have been part of a master plan to integrate stewardship of the environment in the development of Lakewood Ranch.

Building homes strictly along the green standards of the Green Building Coalition is but one part of this master plan. It also called for maintaining the integrity of the local environment, leaving habitats of wildlife untouched, using only indigenous plants and trees, and converting into splendid lakes previously dug-up pits mined for shells and sand.

These nature preserves come along with other Lakewood Ranch’s winsome amenities like golf courses, clubhouses, polo and cricket fields, sports, athletic and fitness facilities, schools, health and medical care centers. For Central Park in particular, community living is designed to revolve around a 10-acre grand park reminiscent of a main street in an American hometown. This park has a pavilion, picnic areas, tennis courts, and fountains among other features that too combine for the grand debut of Central Park at Lakewood Ranch.

There are currently two builders featured in Central Park offering a total of 10 designs and floor plans. With these new designs we see the return of the front porch. A welcome return to a feature so many buyers have come to demand.
