University Park Country Club Golf Courses
The University Park golf course can rival any stellar ranking among Florida’s various golfing grounds. Golf Digest Magazine has awarded the University Park course a four-star rating for 10 successive years. Golf for Women magazine has also cited the course as “the most women-friendly.”
Equally well-known is the club’s Golf Academy manned by expert teaching professionals. Support facilities are as impressive, consisting of a driving range and practice areas for the short game—sand bunkers, chipping and putting greens. Full-service and well-kept locker facilities and a well-stocked pro shop round out the factors which gave the golf course its many awards.
The layout was designed by the famed golf course builder Ron Garl who began his “Classic Design Series” at University Park. What he did was seamlessly blend natural vegetation and local topography into the 27-hole, par 36 layout, thus resulting in a stately golf course lined with ancient oaks and placid lakes. An 18-hole play within this design involves a choice from three course yardages adaptive to players varying skill levels.
